A traditional concrete foundation system used in residential and commercial construction. It typically consists of reinforced concrete footings generally dug into the ground and a slab or strip footings with concrete walls.
Is a popular above-ground foundation system in New Zealand that uses polystyrene (void former) pods and steel reinforcement rods. The pods reduce the amount of concrete required while evenly distributing the load, and the steel rods strengthen the poured concrete for added structural integrity.
A similar system to ribraft, but instead, uses pre-formed plastic pods (void former) placed under a concrete slab to create a lightweight, energy-efficient foundation.
An eco-friendly concrete floor system that uses plastic, dome-shaped forms to create voids within a concrete slab. By placing concrete over these modular forms, it creates a strong, efficient waffle raft slab that uses less concrete while maintaining excellent load-bearing strength. This design improves under-slab airflow for moisture control and insulation, making it a sustainable, durable choice for projects aiming to lower their environmental impact.
A sustainable reinforced concrete foundation designed to be easily re-levelled if needed. It’s a ribbed slab that works well on soils that tend to shift, like areas with liquefaction risk or expansive soils. This system provides a solid, stable base for structures, whether they need deeper support with piles or just a shallow foundation.
Edge insulation is used around the perimeter of a concrete foundation to reduce heat loss and improve energy efficiency. It helps create a thermal barrier between the slab and the outside ground, making it an important part of meeting modern building standards.
